New Challenge for the Month of June
Contents
Hi Crafty Friends and thankyou for visiting today.
A new month means a fun, new creative challenge over at INKspirational Crafters and I get to host a Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge.
This would have to be one of my favourite challenges as there are lots to choose from to inspire your creativity. Pick a row, across, down or diagonally and create a card with those elements, love it!. So for this month, I selected my three squares, got busy crafting and I wanted to share this project with you!
My Tic-Tac-Toe selection: Embossing, Floral, Bling.
Project measurements and details, a suggested supply list and a downloadable tutorial at the end of this post.
Colour Combo
My my card features the Stampin’ Up! Happiness Abounds stamp set and co-ordinating Blossoming Happiness Dies. The Hues of Happiness Suite from Stampin’ Up! is definately one of my favourites in the new or perhaps I should say relatively new 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue.
To get started, I diecut the pattern from a layer of Basic White Cardstock and for an extra touch added the notebook edge on the left side. I diecut the flowers and foliage from the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper, I always love it when the paper co-ordinates with the dies. Using a Blending Brush I added some Balmy Blue and Night of Navy ink to create contrast on the background so the colour would show through the smaller detailed layer and dry embossed using the 3D Scripty Embossing Folder (now retired, however many embossing folders would work just as well) to add texture. I used a Dark Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends Marker to create some ink “splatters,” as well as a Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush to create some sparkly splatter. The sparkle is difficult to notice in the images, however it looks fantastic in person! The splattered detail really compliments the floral design.
Here is a peek inside the card! I added a co-ordinating sentiment as well as a couple of small floral images. To bring the colours from the front of the card to the inside, I stamped the outline with Dark Night of Navy, coloured the flowers with Dark Balmy Blue and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ blends. I really like how this card turned out and I hope you do too! Feel free to challenge yourself and have some fun!
